Run leg of Old Colony Triathlon

Paul, Laura, and I did the Old Colony triathlon as a team. Paul on swim, Laura on bike, and me on run (why is it that nobody ever wants to do the run??). We met up with a bunch of folks @ 5 AM and caravan'd to the race in Middleborough MA. Bunch of people on this one with many doing it as a slower paced tune up for Ironman Lake Placid which is on July 23.

Paul had an excellent swim, and Laura kicked it on the bike; now it's my turn... The run was (is) a fairly flat 6.7 miles, it was a very humid and still 95 degrees. And I'm off! Chris and I left T2 at exactly the same time and headed cross country to get to the road, the run course is 1 loop of the bike course. I kept my heart rate between 180 and 185 for pretty much the duration and ended up with a couple spikes of 198 on slight hills and on the kick at the end. My time was 57:24. After the race a whole bunch of us headed to Onset to hang out at a tiki bar with a pool for a couple hours. Awesome day!

Distance: 6.7 miles Pace: 8:35 Average heart rate: 182
