Rest day = good day

Rest day today. Did some work in the yard as well as attended a neighbors kids birthday party with the family. Started to get ready for tomorrows race. I think I'll switch hats for the runs...Maybe I'll be faster :-)

Seriously though, I've been doing some thinking on my last race's poor run performance and I think that it may be due to the illness I had several weeks before. My youngest daughter was hospitalized with Rotavirus and I picked it up myself (the hospital is no place for healthy people!!) probably due to my periodization between races. No picnic, couldn't keep any food in me for almost a week and lost 8 lbs quick quick. I think I just went into the race weak. Since then I've put 3 lbs back on and feel good. Of course I have another cold, just a cough now. We'll see how it goes tomorrow!

Rotovirus is a grusome, ugly thing. To say it sucks is to not know rotovirus. It's a beast and if even got a little of it, I'm amazed that you could write a sentence than included the verb 'to run'.
